Frequently Asked Questions
When can I start driving Lessons ?
At DLAR you can start your Driving Lessons from15 by using the 'First Gear' Course or the BTEC Road Safety and Attitude Course. You can apply for your Provisional Driving Licence 2 months before your 17th Birthday. Once your licence becomes valid you can start Driving Lessons and also take the Theory Test.
How do I book ?
All you need to do is contact me with your name, address and regular availability and we will do the rest. Once Lesson dates have been agreed between us, you will need to pay a non refundable deposit to secure those dates and then you're good to go. The outstanding balance for any booking is then due on the day of your first lesson.
How do I know the availability and coverage ?
The easiest way to check my availability is on the Drive Like a Rockstar Facebook page as this is regularly updated. If you don't have access to Facebook then you can call, text or email with your requests. DLAR currently covers these areas and surrounding areas : Belper, Heanor, Ripley, Ilkeston. If you're unsure whether I cover your address, please contact me to ask. I am based in Belper so my coverage is normally within a 30 minute travel time from home.
How much are Driving Lessons ?
This all depends on what type of Lessons you would like. We offer Weekly, Semi intensive and Intensive. Due to the nature of these Lessons they are all priced individually. Please check out the Shop for all options.
How do I Pay ?
A non refundable deposit must be paid to confirm all new lessons. This can be paid through the Shop. You will then need to pay the full balance for that booking on the first lesson. This can also be paid through the Shop or in the car on the day. I will happily discuss any payment options with you.
How do I study for my Theory ?
Drive Like a Rockstar recommends these Apps. If you would like extra Theory Tuition then please ask during your Driving Lessons. Each driving lesson up to your theory test will include some time spent covering theory questions. I do expect that you spend as much time possible studying at home for the theory test
